Collaborating Artists

At MINISTRY OF AWE, our goal is to create a network of visual artists, performers and creatives of all types that come together with the public to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Over the past 30 years, it has been Meg Saligman’s mission to work with people in the City of Philadelphia and in the country at large to provide both artists and the public with opportunities to create,  express, and connect. Artistic networks are developed through sharing and collaborating, and are deepened through collective acts of making. We need each other in order to create, and through creating together we become a community.

For Meg, MINISTRY OF AWE is an opportunity to expand this practice of community building to an even larger scale. Through inviting artists to collaborate on the making of The MoA Experience and future projects, we seek to create an artistic cohort that connects young, emerging artists with experienced professionals through the physical act of making.

MAKE BANK

Philly Fringe Festival 2023

“The money is fake. The abundance is real.”

The New York Times

For the 2023 Philly Fringe Festival, Ministry of Awe, in collaboration with Rough & Tumble Productions, created MAKE BANK, a show where guests were invited to join a band of currency-crazed visual and performing artists in The Manufacturers’ National Bank for a night of burlesque, exchange, trading, creating, singing, dancing and absurdity. The space was brought to life by an amalgamation of people pulled from all walks of life including students from the Pig Iron School for Advanced Performance Training, friends of Meg Saligman Studio, friends of friends, performers in the arts community, and volunteers.

Truly a collaborative project, MAKE BANK captivated audiences with its abundant visuals and interactive, experiential storytelling.

Poljak’s latest film Incredible Machine Glass Body was selected, screened, and won at several international film festivals in 2020.  They are currently a professor at The University of the Arts, School of Film and an Artist in Residence at Mascher Space Cooperative.
